Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery

The Department of Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery provides both out-patient and in-patient clinical services. Referrals are accepted from the Dental Centre, private practitioners and NUH. Areas of expertise cover dento-alveolar surgery, implant surgery, orthognathic surgery, laser surgery, trauma surgery, cancer surgery and pain management. In addition, the department manages cases for oral pathology and oral medicine.

Out patient operation under local anaethesia

Quality of clinical care is excellent with good and prompt service. There are 5 closed-operatories and a 6-chair opened operatory area for out-patient services. The department provides 3 in-patient operating lists and uses the facilities in both the Main Building and Specialist Wing of the hospital. Medisave can be utilized for in-patient procedures.

Laser treatment of intra-oral lesion

The department covers night-call and emergency cases at the Accident and Emergency Department of NUH. Medical patients in the wards are also catered for when the need arises. There are combined clinics, consultations and management for cleft lip and palate patients, head and neck cancer and trauma cases.
