Operative Dentistry

Operative Dentistry is a branch of specialty which deals with the prevention and treatment of carious processes, defects, and other aesthetic considerations involving the natural teeth. It also involves the maintenance and restoration of the functional physiologic integrity of teeth as they relate to other hard and soft tissue structures of the oral cavity.

At the Dental Centre, we offer a variety of direct and indirect restorative materials for "fillings" which range from silver amalgams, aesthetic tooth coloured composite and ceramic materials to gold and a combination of metal and ceramic restorations.

We also offer the latest techniques and materials on aesthetic correction of discoloured teeth, such as bleaching, composite or porcelain veneers and correction of mildly malaligned teeth and closure of gaps in between teeth using the technique of bonding. This method conserves tooth structures and negates the need for cutting tooth structures which can be quite destructive.
