Mission and Goals
- Provide the information and educational technology support to
meet the needs of the Faculty
- Establish IT and ET as enablers to enhance the teaching of Dentistry
- To execute the “Strategic Plan on Information and Educational
Technology” drafted by the Faculty of Dentistry IT/ET Committee
in January 1997
What we do
- Implement and support the Clinical Information System (CIS)
- Provide maintenance of the Undergraduate, Postgraduate Students
and Feedback systems
- Support courseware development e.g. IVLE and CDROMs
- Maintain the Dentistry and Graduate School websites
- Maintenance of specialised computer-linked dental equipment
e.g. DentSim, Intra-Oral cameras
- Ensure that the security of computer equipment and contents
are not compromised
- Provide training for staff in the use of IT
- Convert existing teaching material into multimedia format
- Provide audio visual equipment and support to staff
- Provide support for other computer hardware and software in
the Faculty
