Multiloop Edgewise Arch Wire (MEAW) Concept and Technique Course Dr Tomio
Ikegami About the Course The aim of this course is to introduce the MEAW treatment concept and technique comprehensively. The MEAW treatment concept does not merely deal with the orthodontic technique; rather, it deals with the etiology, the diagnostic method of malocclusion and the modality of the treatment based on the differential diagnosis. In this course, the following aspects of the MEAW treatment concept will be discussed.
Participants will also be exposed to MEAW bending and application practice during the course. Each participant is to bring the following items to the course:

About the Speaker Dr Tomio Ikegami recieved his speciality orthodontic training at Tufts University from 1981 - 1983. He became a Diplomate of the American Board of Orthodontics in 1990. He is a Certified Orthodontist in the Japanese Orthodontic Society, and was the Director of Scholastic Affairs in the Nishi-nippon Orthodontic Society (N.O.S.). His strong interest in the MEAW technique was sparked by Dt Y.H. Kim, the developer of the MEAW technique and former Associate Professor at Tufts University School of Dental Medicine. Since his return to Japan, Dr Tomio Ikegami has been using this technique as a major part of his orthodontic practice. He has been conducting the MEAW course in Asia since 1997. He is currently the President of the Japan MEAW Technique and Research Foundation. He manages his own private practice which is restricted to orthodontics. Date 14 July 2003 (Whole Day) and 15 July 2003 (Morning session till 1 pm)
