Mr. Kelvin Tong is a graduate of the NUS Faculty of Law. He is obviously a man who likes a challenge since he swapped his promising law career to debut as a film director in 1995 with Moveable Feast. This movie which has been described as ‘quirky’, earned him international recognition at the Clermont-Ferrand Film Festival in France, and is to date, the only Singaporean film to be showcased at the prestigious Museum Of Modern Art in New York. During this period, he also earned a reputation as one of the top movie critics in Asia while working as a film critic for the English language newspaper, The Straits Times. He was honoured with a seat on NETPAC/FIPRESCI, an international body of film critics who serve as jury members at film festivals around the world. Kelvin is a man who keeps going from good to great. His 1999 kung-fu motorcycle movie, Eating Air, won awards at international film festivals in Singapore, Stockholm and Rotterdam and was acclaimed by Variety magazine (USA) in 2001.

Kelvin continues to do what he enjoys most: telling stories though movies.
